OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

This program fosters early-career OB-GYN scientists through translational research on maternal-fetal health, emphasizing prematurity, maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, and health equity. It aims to cultivate expertise, passion, and long-term impact in maternal and infant health outcomes.

ELIGIBILITY

Must be seeking a career in academic obstetrics and gynecology research. Applicants must be near completion of their residency in obstetrics and gynecology or in their subspecialty fellowship. Any individual with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research is invited to work with their institution to develop an application for support. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply. Potential applicants should promptly contact the Reproductive Scientist Development Program office, as should the sponsoring Department Chair. MD or DO degree. US citizen, noncitizen national, or been lawfully admitted for permanent residence and possess an Alien Registration Receipt Card (I-151or I 155) or some other verification of legal admission as a permanent citizen at the time of the award. Completion of a four-year internship and residency in obstetrics-gynecology approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada by the time the Reproductive Scientist Development Program training would begin. Prior laboratory experience is not a requirement for applicants, although a research proposal is required as part of the application.
