The Campbell Foundation

The Campbell Foundation supports nonprofit organizations conducting clinical, laboratory-based research into the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, and related conditions and illnesses. Most grant funding is between $60,000 to $90,000.

UCI may nominate one candidate to apply per year. Please submit the following two items to Info Ready by Monday, February 2 to be considered for 2026.

  1. lay language letter of intent, two pages maximum

The LOI should include a brief description of the research aims, an approximate one-year budget, a list of collaborating research teams, how it is novel research, and an explanation of the relevancy to the HIV community at large within five to seven years from date of completion.

  1. Short biosketch, five pages maximum (shorter is fine)

A decision will be made in late February, allowing the nominee time to meet the April 1 sponsor deadline. Please note that the Campbell website currently shows the January grant cycle but we have confirmed the April date with the Executive Directo.
