Description

The DiGregoria Family Foundation’s Special Grant Award is available to our faculty for novel research on esophageal and upper GI cancers. The Foundation seeks to promote and facilitate collaborative research on the pathogenesis, early diagnosis, and treatment of upper gastrointestinal malignancies. They support high quality, innovative, and transformative translational and bench research to improve the understanding of the biology of these diseases, identification of potential novel therapeutic targets, or in the development and evaluation of novel biomarkers for early diagnosis and treatment. Pre-clinical research, basic mechanistic studies, genomic/epigenomic studies, as well as epidemiologic studies may also be supported.

Funding Amount: The grants are $250,000 over two years. (Indirect costs cannot exceed 10%, and the entire grant cannot exceed $250,000.)

Funding Period: September 15, 2021 – September 14, 2023

Cancer Center Administration will triage basic science/non-clinical trial proposals and connect with Department of Medicine’s Research Development and Operations for pre-award assistance. For clinical trial/patient treatment proposals, Cancer Center Administration will connect applicants to the Stern Center for pre-award assistance.
