Summary Info
The mission of the Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr. Foundation (EMJF) is to support early-stage investigators engaged in basic biomedical research that has the potential to advance the understanding, diagnosis or treatment of disease. This grant provides $225,000 over 3 years for tenure-track faculty in their first to fourth years of their first faculty appointment. The grants are designed specifically to provide M.D. and/or Ph.D. faculty members start-up support to move their project forward to the point where R01 or other independent funding can be obtained. EMJF does not support projects that are already under way or are receiving significant grant support. Applicants with R01 funding should not apply.
