Nominations are requested for new and renewal applications to fill 5 predoctoral and 3 postdoctoral positions on the Training in the Neurobiology of Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease NIH T32 with a start date no sooner than July 1, 2025. New appointments are for one year with a potential to reapply for a second year in the next call.
The ideal candidate must be a US citizen or permanent US resident and should show an excellent record of productivity and great promise for pursing research related to successful brain aging and/or age-related neurodegenerative diseases. The research can be behavioral, cellular, or molecular, preferably using a multidisciplinary approach.
Graduate student nominees must have completed at least two years of academic training by July 1, 2025, thus beginning their third or fourth year of study.
Each nomination package should include in this order:
- A 1-2 page letter of nomination from the candidate’s advisor. The statement of nomination should explain the candidate’s project and its relationship to the training grant. The statement should also acknowledge that the advisor and candidate are aware that acceptance of a training grant position comes with certain program obligations and include statements of willingness to participate in training activities.
- NIH biosketch (Graduate students should use the NIH fellowship Biosketch format: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/forms/biosketch.htm)
- Proposal (prepared using Arial font, size 11, with 0.5 inch margins):
- Please submit a two-page description of aims and experimental design of the thesis work that is ongoing and predicted for the next year that is prepared by the applicant.
- Please submit a two-page proposal including a project abstract, specific aims, and research plan for the training grant period prepared by the applicant.
