Sydney Prange, PhD

School of Physical Sciences

Dr. Sydney Prange is the Research Development Officer in the School of Physical Sciences where she supports faculty and graduate students by helping them identify funding opportunities and develop competitive applications to advance their research endeavors.

Dr. Prange received her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Southern California and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of California Irvine. Dr. Prange’s dissertation research focused on repairing the dendrites of neuron cells in the context of neurodegeneration. During her Ph.D., she interned with the UC Irvine Office of Research for two years working across campus units on a range of grant and graduate fellowship submissions and also earned second place at the 2025 UCI Grad Slam Finals for her scientific communication skills.
